There are thousands of gorgeous places all over America to choose from, but here are five that are famous for their Fall season.

1. The Great Smoky Mountains | North Carolina & Tennessee

The Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge areas are absolutely breathtaking during the Fall months. The picturesque small towns are filled with activities for the whole family, like old taffy and caramel shops, Ripley’s museums and adventures, fall festivals, and more. The surrounding areas have many trails and parks so that you can see the best nature has to offer. Including Clingman’s Dome that has a view of three other states from its peak.

2. 88-Mile Loop | Vermont

In Vermont, there is an 88-mile loop in the center of the state along Routes 100, 107, 12, and 106 through Gaysville, Barnard, Woodstock, Ludlow, and Killington. This route is dotted with beautiful historical landmarks and quaint farmhouses and barns. From the Fall foliage that surrounds the roads to the stretches of rolling hills, this is the perfect escape into the countryside.

3. Hudson River Valley | New York

On the best days, you can see 5 states from the elevated panoramic view at the famous Point Lookout Inn on the Palisades Interstate Parkway. The Fall season is the perfect time to make this trip Northeast and cool off. Plus, if you catch it at the right time, you can also swing over and catch the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!

4. Route 44 & 154 | Connecticut

Connecticut is laced with old-timey country roads, including US Route 44 through Natchaug State Forest and State Route 154 through Old Saybrook.
