Tiny houses are taking over the housing market. A smaller home equals less junk and clutter, lower bills, and no house payment. Tiny houses are perfect for couples wanting to downsize, young couples just trying to get on their feet, and older couples settling into retirement. But the question stands: should you build your tiny house on a trailer and make it mobile? The answer depends on the type of tiny home you build; although, it’s possible to build almost any type of tiny home on wheels. Here are a few things to consider when deciding whether or not to build your tiny house on a trailer.

1. You can travel at any time.

If your home is mobile, you can take a road trip any time you want. Heck, you don’t even have to pack! When you build your tiny house on a trailer, it gives you the freedom to go anywhere quickly and comfortably. You don’t have to worry about the bed at the hotel hurting your back or whether it’s clean. Best of all, you don’t have to pay those ridiculous hotel prices.

Owning a traveling tiny home opens up endless possibilities, especially if you are retiring or taking some time off. You can take a road trip to see the countryside, for example, without leaving the comfort of your own home.

2.  You don't have to worry about the hassle of moving.

Chances are you’ve had to move at some point in your life and, sadly, it probably won’t be the last time. Moving is so stressful with all of the packing, organizing, and worrying about selling your house. It just sucks, period. Wouldn’t it be nice to know you’d never have to go through that again? If you build your tiny house on a trailer, you can leave the hassle of moving behind you, once and for all. You don’t have to pay for boxes, deal with realtors, or rent an expensive moving truck.

Plus, you’d feel secure knowing that none of your stuff will get broken or damaged during the move, like that beautiful 55″ TV of yours. Whether you get a new job in another state, or you’re simply tired of your noisy neighbors, moving is literally just a hitch away.

3. You can avoid bad weather.

One of the downsides to a tiny home is that they aren’t always the most durable option in bad weather. This is a given since they are so much smaller and don’t have a basement or storm shelter below. So, what do you do when severe weather threatens? You can evacuate your entire home! Now that your home is mobile, you don’t have to worry about taking your valuables when you evacuate or returning to horrifying storm damage.

Even if there isn’t the threat of a hurricane looming, no matter what the weather, you can choose to escape it. If it gets too hot or too cold, you can pick up and go where the weather is better.

There are many benefits to choosing to build your tiny house on a trailer. They are a great way to save money and time, but they also mean a lifestyle shift. If that life isn’t for you, you don’t have to live in your tiny home full-time. If you build it on a trailer, you can use your tiny home purely for road trips or as a portable vacation spot. The way we see it is, what’s the point of building a tiny home if it isn’t portable? Think about the kind of freedom you get from riding your bike or going boating. This is the same freedom but with way more possibilities.

Stop dreaming of that trip you’ve always wanted to take and GO! With your tiny house on a trailer, you’re ready to go anytime, anywhere. No excuses!
